Deconstruction Projects Save Materials & Help Families

This summer, The Stock Pile deconstructed two buildings for local businesses in Canton. These projects have saved thousands of dollars worth of reusable materials from entering the landfill.

“Our goal is to help reduce waste and help families in need”, says The Stock Pile Manager. “The opportunity to deconstruct these homes has allowed us to save more materials than ever and help more families than ever.”

Thanks to the generosity of Lazar’s Creative Framing and Schumacher Homes, reusable doors, windows, furnaces, appliances, cabinets and other materials are getting a second life improving the homes of area families.

The Stock Pile partnered with the teachers and students at Project Rebuild to complete the deconstruction projects. These projects provided a great natural classroom for the students to apply their skills and learn in a real world setting.

The Stock Pile is hoping to complete more home and business deconstruction projects in the coming year. Donating an older building for deconstruction is a great opportunity for our community to reduce waste and help families in need.

If you have a home or business being remodeled or demolished, please consider donating the used materials to The Stock Pile. Interested in deconstruction? Call Patrick Gerber at 330.455.4585 or email thestockpile@att.net.
